A.P.O.L.L.Ox [x] you run like the river...
I smiled slightly, as I understood what she meant. I didn't answer until she was behind me, standing at my shoulder. I turned around, my eyes gleaming. "I do worry for you Artemis, I would hate for anything to happen to such a beautiful mare," my words flowed like water, I couldn't help but laugh. I did think she was pretty, but I hoped she wouldn't take things the wrong way and leave.
I started to walk, then trot, before building up into a slow canter, heading towards the little cave I usually hid from all of the element's in. I liked my cave, it was a nice little thing, but it would be big enough for the both of us. We could stay there until the storm had passed. I knew she would be following, and I didn't stop, untill large rock's loomed around us, and a small cave opening appeared ahead.
I paused, waiting for Artemis.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' Could any mare refuse this stallions charm, he was caring for even near strangers, and already after knowing her for what at most an hour or that was all ti seemed, he was already worried for her saftey. Giving a little giggle she followed matching her pace to his never once leaving his side. Maybe just too affrid to loose the time she had with him...
As he slowed to wait for her she came to a gentle stop not really realising before now that she had dropped back and was slowing down. But stopping near the brutes head Artemis looks at him a small smile on her maw. "Have we arrived good sir?" she was polite with her words but also slightly playfull.
Turning to take a quick look at the cave before her Artemis had a slight fear for caves after all these were places where young mares sometimes are tortured, but knowing she was safe with this stallion her fear did not show.

I smiled as she stood beside me. "Yes, indeed we have arrived miss, I can tell you are a little afraid of entering with me, but trust me, please," without waiting for an answer, I walked into the cave, seconds before another echoing crack of thunder boomed, a lot louder now.
Once I was near the back of the cave, I smiled, looking around. The floor was filled with soft, white sand, easy to fall asleep on, and very comfortable. Even though it had looked dark from the outside, it was reasonably light inside, and the few rocks around the edges glittered dimly. As I heard more thunder, and the first few drops of rain began to fall, I looked at Atremis, "I suggest you come inside now miss, it is going to get heavier very soon," my voice had an eerie echo to it, and I laughed, that too echoing. I was proud of my little cave.
I lay down on the floor, near the back for shelter, I hoped Artemis would know I wouldn't hurt her. But I couldn't if I was lying down. I flinched at the thunder, I wasn't too good with storms. I never have been. It would be good to have company during this one.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' The sudden crack of thunder terified her, it was unexpected, Bolting forward with a slight squeal Artemis soon calmed herself enough to enter the cave and give a reply to Apollo "I have seen many bad things happen within caves, so it comes naturaly to me to fear them. I am sorry sir, I do trust you."
She made sure her words were as true sonding as she meant them to be, and slowly walking to the back of the cave for moments standing near the laying brute before carefully dropping herself to lay at his side. Watching the rain outside as it started to fall she allowed a small sigh to escape her lips.
Now her gaze turned to the cave, a slight shiver ran down her spine but she ignored it. This space had a fair amount of space for the two horses so she really didn't have to lie so close to the stallion.

I watched as she entered the cave, and I slowly nodded. I also knew of the bad things which happen in caves, and I knew she had the perfect right to be afraid. I moved a little ufrther away from Artemis, in hopes of showing her I really did mean her no harm. I watched as she lay down and smiled softly at her. It was a start. Hopefully she would soon trust me enough so she would never be scared. I was here to protect her, not harm her.
I looked at the rain with a sad glance. The rain always made me sad, it brought back memories of the past. And the endless tap tap tap of it falling was enough to drive you mad. I slowly shook me head, before looking at the mare beside me. "So then Artemis, how did you get into the south? Or have you always been here?" I asked quietly, knowing that sometimes it can hurt to talk of the past. I didn't want to cause her the pain of rememberance. A pain I knew only too well.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' The rain seemed to fall at a fair pace, but she wasn't watching it but listning to it. Her gaze rsted on the stallion at her side, he had moved away from her a little why she couldn't understand. But relaxing slightly into the sand beneath her Artemis was no longer as tense as she was before, tho she still watched evrything her eyes could catch.
He shook his head slowly before asking her a question, looking to the ground before looking back to him she pulled a small smile to her ilps. "I have always been of the southern herds, but the herd I was born into suffered an attack, and anyone I loved or cared for were lost, taken or slaughtered. I wish to find any who may have survived and free them from there binds to the Northern horses."
A sad smile was all that showed on her lips now, she hated to think on her loss and how she was the only one who managed to hide and escape the stallions of the North. "How about yourself, have you always been of the Southern herds?" she asked trying now to stop thinking about wha has happened in her past.

I closed my eyes slightly as the rain lulled me into some sort of trance. It was soothing, although it brought back bad memories. As Artemis told me her short life-story, I fely my heart go out to her. This mare had lost everything, all beacuse those horrible stallions of the north. They would pay. I opened my eyes and looked at her, imagining how hard it must have been for her.
"I will help you search if you like, we could go farther than you can go alone. I could protect you from stallions, we could search for people you know in the captive lands,"
I hoped she would accept, I didn't want her to leave and go out in the world alone. Not when all of those Northern stallion were always waiting to capture poor unsuspecting mares. My heart once again went out to all the mares who were constantly beaten and raped. It's a hard line to walk, and I chose to walk it.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' Standing slowly and stepping closer to him so that when she lowered her body to the ground once more her side brushed against his, resting her head over his back and gently grooming his shoulder in thanks for what he was saying but she now paused with her grooming.
"I cannot and will not ask you to risk your life to help me, sir. But what you chose to do whether it be help me to find those i've lost or to stay here and wait for my possible return, I will forever be in your debt."
She spoke slowly and carefull to chose the correct words. Resting her head over his withers once again she carefully started to groom his shoulder hoping he wouldn't mind her actions, hears twitched waiting to catch a reply if one would come from Apollo. Or would he stay silent?

I rolled my eyes slightly at her words, of course Iwould go. Sure, sure, some people could say I was abandoning my kingdom, but in my eyes I was serving it. I would be helping to rescue mares from the North, helping to keep a mare safe.
"Then I shall acompany you no matter what miss, I would worry to much if I let you leave on your own. And it is my duty as ruler here to protect and serve mares such as yourself, so I shall protect you in your quest,"
I smiled as she stood up, then lay down, grooming my shoulders. I twisted my head, and groomed her neck in return, careful to be slow and gently, so she would not be afraid again. Her lips felt good as she moved over my tence muscles, soothing and unknotting them. I hoped I was causing her as much pleasure as she was giving me. I laughed silently, thinking about how mares and stallions can give eachother pleasure, besides having sex.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' It was nice to know that he would follow and help her in whatever ways he could, and another thing that pleased her was that he did not move away nor did he push her away or request her to stop her gentle groming on his shoulders and now neck.
Then slowly and carefully he started on her neck, a gentle nicker passed her lips as under his touch she relaxed and slowly calmed more. Pausing again with her grooming to speak "I thank you, my lord." she whispered before slowly and as carefully as before she started to groom his shoulders and neck.
Slowly working her way down to reach his side and what she could of his back Artemis now was much more relaxed and seemed to forget she was in a cave as a storm rolled on outside. Then the sudden crack of thunder followed by lighting made her jump and squeal in fear, cuddling closer to the stallion for a few moments before calming again and looking out to the storm.

A.P.O.L.L.Ox [x] you run like the river... My eyes closed slightly as I was groomed, and as I groomed. I moved onto Artemis's shoulders, sighing with pleasure. As she spoke I laughed, "Pleasure is all mine Artemis, really it is," My words were true, I hadn't felt this happy in a long long time.
As the thunder scared her, I slowly nosed her, whispering words to calm her. I slowly snaked my head out from under her's, laying mine on top. I tried to think of something to say, to make her feel better.
"You know, all storms pass eventually, this one will, this war storm will, and out of the clouds will appear the sun, and your friends,"
I hoped what I was saying were true, but it had to be, I had seen many storms come and go, some lasted longer than others, this was was just a very long storm. I sighed slightly, wondering what would happen if we did ever defeat the northern stallions.

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' As his head pulled over hers she nuzzled his neck, pulling her body as close to his as possible. She felt safe at his side, like no-one no matter who it was could hurt her here. He really was the sun that shone when nothing else did.
"Apollo, I don't know if any of my friends or family survived, they have been gone for years now. But at the moment, right now, I feel safe, I feel like no Northern stallion, no matter how high he ranks. Can touch me, like no fall can hurt me. I feel safe..."
Trailing off a single tear falling down her cheek thankfull that he could not see her face Artemis buried her muzzle into his mane and took a deep breath trying to calm herself. Trying not to think about those who may still be suffering, her mother, her sister. Her father and all her friends... But here with this stallion, she was safe...

A.P.O.L.L.Ox [x] you run like the river... I sighed softly at her words, gently nuzziling her shoulder, wondering why Artemish had usddenly burried her head into my thick creamy mane. "Artemis, dear, just think, even if they have passed on from this life, they will now be roaming around up with the sun god, watching over you and keeping you safe. I am glad you feel safe here, and I hope you feel secure with me here, for if you ever want me to leave, I will, but I do want to help you find your family, for I am sure they are alive and well somewhere, and maybe while we search we could rescue others who are captive there, for every night my dreams are haunted by their cries," my voice had lowered, and so did my head, I closed my eyes sadly, I felt horrible for the ones who were trapped, with nowhere to go. It was all my fault...

Your Guardian Angel Your Best Friend Artemis 'Don't Leave Me Now' Moving her muzzle away from his mane the tear that once fell from her cheeks had stopped and only the fur on her cheeks was damp, looking at the stallion she seemed calmed but also affraid. No, Terrified. "Thank you Apollo, no thanks would ever amount to what you are doing to help me and those enslaved." Her words were a meer whisper but easily heard by a fellow equine.
The storm outside was un-noticed by the mare as she slowly calmed down from her moments of fear and sadness, she settled down properly beside the stallion, perfectly happy to be here with him, a small smile turning up the corners of her darkened mouth. She watched him for most of her times here, but always was she thinking about the days to pass, would they stay together before leaving or would they part untill they were ready to approach the captive lands... And once done, would they be able to return to one another.

A.P.O.L.L.Ox [x] you run like the river...
I sighed softly as she relaxed beside me. Her words made me uncomfortable, they made me want to tell her any kind stallion would do it, but I was too happy to try and take the light away from me. And I was glad that I could help her, I won't lie, I am pleased I fount Artemis dancing in the moonlight. I would help her find her friends, and others who were trapped. We could do this, and then we could have our happy ever after.
I spent most of the time gazing at her as she gazed at me. Eventually I shook my head and cleared it of the spell that gripped me. "Do you wish to stay here until we leave, or are there things you need to do away from here? You can have some time alone if you wish," my eyes were kind. I would understand if she wished to have some time to herself, after all, she had just spent a long night with me.
