She shook her head at almost the same time he had, they seemed to have been staring at one another for an eternity but it was only a couple of minuets 'lost' gazing at one another. When he spoke her ears twisted forward and toward one another to catch what he was saying.

"If you wish me to leave for a while I can and then meet you before we leave, but if you don't mind I would like to spend some time around my lord and get to know the being we all know and love a little better."

She maybe was getting a little too friendly now but she was going to make the most of the time she knew she had around this stallion. Who knew this whole captive freedom may end up in the loss of one another or something as scary as that.

I laughed softly as she too shook her head. It's amazing how captivating eyes are. They can pull you right down into them. It's almost as if you can see the equines very soul. As she spoke a huge smile passed across my maw and I gently nudged her in a fond way.

"I would love to spend more time with you, and to get to know you would be great Artemis, It would be an absolute honour!"

I hoped she would hear the truth in my voice, I liked the mare beside me, she was funny, friendly, a great dancer, and just awesome to spend time with. I couldn't wait until we went searching for her friends and family. If we helped them, then we could come back and continue our lives here. And as time went on I knew I wanted to spend a lot of my time with Artemis.

"So when do you propose we leave for the Captive Lands?"

A smile tugging at her maw as he spoke of wanting no loving to spend more time with her, as he nudged her fondly she gave a soft pur of a nicker, her neck arching slightly and her ears pressed forward. It was amazing how happy one could be while around someone else.

"If it wasn't for meeting you my lord, I would have left once finished dancing, for I didn;t know if that would be my last dance within these lands. But on meeting you, my plans changed, but the sooner we can leave the more chance we have of finding them."

She should have stopped herself thinking about not finding them there and then for the next scene that she saw ahead was the life less bodies of her friends, and amongst them was Apollo. Shaking this thought away Artemis looked into Apollo's eyes wondering what he would next say.

As she spoke a feeling of warmth crept over me. I had saved her from going alone. I shivered at the thought of what might have happened had she gone alone. I didn't even want to think about it. Just thinking about what those brutes of the north could have done to her made me squirm. I looked outside of the cave, the storm was growing lighter now.

"Well then Artemis, we shall leave as soon as you are ready, we have both had a long rest in here, and by the looks of it, the storm is almost over, so we can leave very soon, and you are right, the sooner we leave, the more chance of finding them and saving them."

I was buzzing with excitement, in the next few weeks we could possibly save some poor mares, and possibly stallions I guess, from a life of pain and misery. At last I had a chance to show my people that I wasn't just a figurehead. I was doing something to help them.

A glance outside comfirmed what he had said, it was lightening up, but they couldn't leave now, they should at least consider drinking before leaving. If this were to be her last days withing the lands, she felt she had spent them well, her dance, then meeting the lord and now spending much of her time around him.

She had left him to find a lake or something to drink from if he had followed her or not she did not know, but did not make him come. The next few days seemed to fly by, almost like Artemis was not allowed to have a nice time before a dark one, she would spend the evening and much of her time around Apollo only leaving him if he wanted to be allone. Often she would stand and groom him afectionatly.

The day came fast, she had told Apollo three days then they should leave, the third day was there in a flash, rain fell gently but would pass. She had awoken from a peacefull night once again in Apollo's cave, looking for him when she rose to her feet.

As the sky grew light, I smiled. It was time for us to prepare. I did go with Artemis when she went to drink for I too needed to quench my thirst. It had been a while since I had drank. I kept away from her at the lake, deciding to give her time to herself, after all, everyone needs personal time.

The next few days were the best of my life to date. I spent as much time as I could with Artemis, only letting her out of my sight when she wanted alone time. I was gathering my strength and preparing for the upcoming task.

The day we were ready to leave I rose, standing beside Artemis and fondly nuzziling her shoulder. I was afraid, but not for myself. For her. If anything happened to me then I would never forgive myself.

"Well then, today is the day, are you sure your up to this?"

She shook slightly with both excitement and nerves, it was scary that they were going to be marching straight into the captive lands as only a pair but at the same time exilirating. She wanted to find those she lost, at whatever cost that may be to herself, all she knew was that whatever happened Apollo would get out of this.

"As ready as ever I could be, I guess i'm more affraid of loosing you than I am of meeting darks head on."

She spoke slowly, nuzzling his neck then gently licking his cheek, taking a couple of steps forward to stand at the caves entrance she looked out over the lands, the veiw she caught of the captive lands was dark. The sky looked black compared to what it was here, terified of that apperance she shook once. Head turning as she glanced at Apollo.
